Municipality of Sihanoukville

Sihanoukville is also known as Kampong Som.  There are two (2) post offices in the centre of the Municipality of Sihanoukville: the main post office (that uses the Sihanoukville postmark) and a much small post office near the central market (that uses the 'Psar Leu' postmark).

1.  Main Post Office, Sihanoukville

                                                                                                                                An example of each of postmarks available at the main post office of Sihanoukville: the one to the left, from 2005, gives the month in abbreviated letters (SEP), whereas the 2009 postmark (above, right) gives the same in numbers (11); the year is shown in full (2005) in the older postmark whereas the year is abbreviated (09) in the newer postmark; in addition, the name of the Municipality in the older postmark includes a space between 'SIHANOUK' and 'VILLE', with the newer postmark providing no space.  Further differences are the inclusion of the postcode in the older version (18000) but none in the new postmark and the country name in English on the older postmark (CAMBODIA) and in French (CAMBODGE) in the newer postmark.

2.  Psar Leu Post Office, central Sihanoukville town, Municipality of Sihanoukville

3.  Veal Renh District Post Office, Municipality of Sihanoukville

A District Post Office is located at Veal Renh at the point where National Road No. 3 joins National Road No. 4 that runs between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville.
