Kampong Chhnang Province

As can be seen from the above French colonial-era distance markers, Kampong Chhnang provincial post office is 201km's from Battambang (left) and 91km's from the Cambodian capital (right) along National Road Number 5.
Kampong Chhnang Provincial Centre
Below is the independence monument in Kampong Chhnang town, the administrative centre of the province of the same name; this version of the independence monument is a smaller version of that in central Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, and commemorates Cambodia's independence from France:

The Kampong Chhnang town bus station, below, with a regular bus service to/from the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, and periodic bus services each day to the provincial centres of Pursat, Battambang, Sisophon (Banteay Meanchey Province) and to Poipet on the Cambodian border with Thailand. Local taxis can also be hired from this part of Kampong Chhnang town.

Fishermen, below, in their traditional handmade wooden boats on the Tonle Bassac river that leads upstream into the Tonle Sap lake of Central Cambodia.
