Here is an example, below, of a makeshift truck put together using various components and scrap and a lot of ingenuity, variations of which are seen all over Cambodia, especially in rural areas, where they are used for a wide range of haulage duties; this one is seen in central Kampong Cham town:

Skun, Cheung Prey District, Kampong Cham Province
The post office of Skoun in the centre of Cheung Prey District, below, one of several districts of the large province of Kampong Cham in Eastern Cambodia. Outgoing mail items are usually sent to the Provincial Centre of Kampong Cham town for franking and forwarding to their respective destination. 'Cheung Prey' in the Cambodian (Khmer) language roughly translates as, 'the leg or root of the forest', in English; below, right, is an example of the Skoun postmark as used in October 2004.

Above is a typical monument seen in many towns and even villages in Cambodia, often erected during the 1980's, in recognition of the contributions made by male (left) and female (right) farmers and fishermen. Directly behind this statue is a tall monument with lettering in Chinese denoting the work of the Chinese military as part of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) from 1991 to 1993 in this area of Cambodia; a close-up of the base of this more modern monument can be seen below.
Another example of communist-era monuments can be seen below from the main traffic island in Skun, depicting a young man (left) and woman (right) jointly holding up a globe of the world above which sits a white dove of peace (albeit somewhat dirty due to the many years of exposure to the weather!); two drinks-sellers sit on the plinth for a rest. A large billboard can be seen to the right of the monument advertising cigarettes.
